THE FESTIVAL TEAM IS COMMITTED, AT ITS OWN EXPENSE, TO PLANT AT LEAST FIVE TREES AT A LOCATION THAT WILL ADDITIONALLY DETERMINE, AS SYMBOLIC COMPENSATION FOR THE PAPER THAT WILL BE USED ON THE FESTIVAL AND OTHER ASPECTS OF THE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPRINT FROM THE ACTIVITIES OF THE FESTIVAL. WITH THIS GESTURE WE WANT TO POINT OUT THE ASPECT OF INDIVIDUAL, COLLECTIVE AND SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY AND ENCOURAGE OTHER INDIVIDUALS, GROUPS, ASSOCIATIONS, INSTITUTIONS, COMPANIES THAT IT IS NOT ONLY POSSIBLE, BUT ALSO EASILY VIABLE!

The core activities this year will be alternative photography workshops. One can apply for one workshop only. These workshops will happen simultaneously, from 10 to 17h five days, every day.

LUMEN PRINT

WORKSHOP BY KETI TALEVSKA

Or luminogram is an image, usually made with an artistic purpose, created by exposure of photosensitive materials to light without the intervention of an object. More info HERE.

YOU NEED:
Motivation to learn this subtle and beautiful basic photo technique. No photographic knowledge is needed.

YOU WILL GET

Five days intensive practice:

  • how to make beautiful photograms
  • how to use black and white paper to make color images
  • how to judge the exposure
  • how to treat the paper
  • how to present the work
  • how to enjoy the new perspective of the world this technique will give you!

WET PLATE COLLODION

WORKSHOP BY PREDRAG UZELAC, SASHO ALUSHEVSKI and MILOSH ZVICER

The black art, wet-collodion process, also called collodion process, early photographic technique invented by Englishman Frederick Scott Archer in 1851.

Some photographic knowledge is preferred. Motivation and patience.

YOU WILL GET

  • how to safely handle the chemicals
  • how to prepare the chemicals and make your own
  • how to prepare the plates for shooting
  • how to use large format camera
  • how to expose
  • how to develop
  • how to varnish/protect the image
  • how to present the final image
  • how to cope the world after the new perspective technique will give you!

CLASSICAL ANALOG BW PHOTOGRAPHY DARKROOM
WORKSHOP BY IVANA TOMANOVIC

YOU NEED:
Analog (film) camera/apparatus. Any kind. If you don’t have it, sure you can lend it. Or we can lend it to you. Some basic photographic knowledge is preferred but not decisive.

Motivation to learn is key feature.

YOU WILL GET

Five days intensive course:

  • how to shoot/expose film – basic knowledge
  • how to handle photographic film
  • how to develop black and white film
  • how to make contact copies
  • how to make positives on photo paper
  • basic darkroom skills (masks, dodge, burn)

Cyanotype by Viktorija Machkovska

Cyanotype is a photographic printing process that produces a cyan-blue print, referred to as blueprints. The process uses two chemicals: ferric ammonium citrate and potassium ferricyanide.
